Bible Study: God's Institutions
(Colossians 3:16-4:1) - A StandingTrue Ministry Resource

• Former President Jimmy Carter's declaration "Losing My Religion Over Equality" represents a disappointing departure from sound biblical teaching. Sadly, he has confused servanthood with subservience. This would be a good time to refresh yourself on how the institutions of God reflect the persons and character of our God.
• ​We all understand that God's institutions are foundational to the survival of our society. Believers, however, need to look a little closer at why God has fabricated institutions the way He has and what He teaches us about Himself through them. This short study which focuses on just a few verses in Colossians is intended to expand our knowledge of God and provide opportunity for some lively classroom discussions as well.

​Q 1. What do we mean by the term “institutions of God?”
​Q 2. Why do we embrace God’s institutions? (See  Col. 3:12 above.)
Q 3. In what way then do these institutions reflect God?
Q 4. How does the institution of marriage reflect the Servant Christ?
    1. The Egalitarian (equality) model.  Gen.1:27, 28; 2:7, Gen. 2:21-25 
    2. The Complementary (help meet) model. Gen. 2:18, Mark 10:2-9, Gen. 3:16
    3. The Christological model.  Eph. 5:21-33
Q 5. How does the institution of the family reflect the Servant Christ?
Q 6. How does the employer/employee relationship reflect the Servant Christ?
Q 7. How then does the New Ecumenism relate to God and His institutions?

Bible Study: It's No Mystery! (Colossians 1:27)

• Take a broad overlook at mysteries in general, and the mysteries of Christ in particular.

* This study includes an Audio Bible class session, a six minute introductory video, and a session handout.
